The following is no longer in effect, but is preserved for entertainment value.

I'm still working on the rules-side implementation of Organizations, giving them some kind of meaningful presence in a character's actions. My current plan is that when an attack roll results in a natural 18 or 19, the character generates an Opening, and what they do with that opening depends on their training. It's trickier for spellcasters, because they almost universally force saving throws rather than make attack rolls. The primary design consideration is not slowing down gameplay.

Iron Temple: Advantage on your next Strength or Dexterity check

Sovereign Knights of the Council Fire: Advantage on your next Constitution check or saving throw

Tiger's Claw: Pistol attack: gain advantage on your next melee attack roll. Melee attack: gain advantage on your next pistol ranged attack.

Cursewardens: Force a Constitution save (DC 8 + your Con modifier + your proficiency bonus), or your target receives the Curse (disadvantage on spell attacks/grant advantage on spell saves you force opponents to roll)

The School of Hard Knocks (default for all weapon-using combatants): Push opponent 5 ft; if pushed against a solid object, target suffers 1d6 damage.

Vigilant Knights of Sunrise: saving throws against your next smite or melee-range spell suffer disadvantage

Colloquium of Spiritual Insight: Advantage on next Wisdom or Charisma check

Schola of the Royal Coronet: Advantage on next Intelligence or Wisdom check

The Solemn Conclave: Advantage on your next save against a necromantic effect or the saving throw against your next necromancy spell suffers disadvantage (whichever happens first)

Flame Chanters: The next time you deal fire damage, deal an additional 1d6 damage

The Arcane Order (default for all mages):

Var Dyrak's Tower

His Highness's Society for Alchemical Refinement
